Similar to this, Apple which fought at the top against all other high-tech companies fell hard to Earth. While Apple was building its dream computers, Bill Gates and his team at IBM were constantly challenging and building high-tech computers with more features and facilities in their computers than in Apple PCs. The two big names, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, had the same dream but different ways to achieve it. Steve Job had neglected other functions such as the database, dedicating himself more to the GUI. The Lisa was introduced in 1983, which became a major flop compared to the much cheaper IBM PC with MS_DOS, floppy drives, databases and more. In 1985, members of the board of directors of Apple Inc stripped Steve Jobs of all his duties making him responsible for not being able to bridge the gap between Apple and IBM/Microsoft. Steve Jobs resigned from Apple. Afterwards, Apple shares plummeted and lost millions of dollars. IBM on the other hand became more successful day by day while Apple languished in competition, failure after failure. When the board's decision to remove Jobs didn't work out well, they brought him back. Figure [1].
