Education is the process by which one receives knowledge and learns from it. During the Renaissance many ideas and concepts were created or revived. Before the Renaissance, in the Middle Ages, people were not very educated as the country was corrupted due to the Church. Additionally, not many people in this time period could afford education on their own. After that era, people began to place emphasis on improving themselves by increasing their skills and knowledge. The changes in thinking that occurred during the Renaissance led to an increase in the population of educated individuals due to the influence of the Church, the rise of the University, and educated women. Theology was created in the Renaissance and has influenced education and the church ever since. it was the study of God. The Bible was retranslated to rediscover its meaning so that people could learn how to lead their new lives. With the creation of the printing press, it was easier for people to obtain copies of the Bible, the holy book of the Catholic Church, to learn and read. They wanted to be able to read the Bible so that people could truly understand the history of the Catholic Church. After reading the Bible, many people began to criticize the Catholic Church and its beliefs and did not really trust what the Catholic Church said. They felt that what the church taught was not what was in the Bible and this led to the Reformation. The Reformation was a religious revolution that caused more people to be better educated. The Reformation created a sense of individualism that began a major change in education. Part of this individualism came from Martin Luther who was a monk who devoted himself to studying the Bible. The more he studied, the more he disagreed with the way ... middle of paper ... educated while other people had never attended school because they had no money to spend on/for their children. Families often hired poor students as tutors to educate the girls. In the Renaissance, a woman's education depended on her class. During the Renaissance, education was revived through the Church, the Universities and women. The Church has had a huge impact on education through the study of theology and Martin Luther. Universities were important for the spread of education because they brought new ideas to the era and fostered people's knowledge. Women had an impact on their own education and that of their husbands. These points have proven to be an increase in the population of educated people through changes in beliefs. Education in the Renaissance was very important to foster the abilities of human beings and their well-being which is still visible today in society.
