The Biglugs do not believe that Candide was not a Jesuit and plan to do treacherous things to Candide and Cacambo. However, Candido and Cacambo convince the guards that Candido was not a Jesuit. Candido just had to convince the Grossi that he was not a Jesuit by going to the border to see the guards.
