There is a lot of hesitation when it comes to joining the EU as once you are a member it becomes very difficult to leave and sometimes joining can cause negative reactions from non-members. Furthermore, the richest countries in the EU have to share their wealth among the poorest countries, which is a disadvantage for countries with the capacity to become world leaders. Up to the inefficient policies. a large amount of waste comes from the EU, huge amounts of spending goes to the common agricultural policy which has distorted agricultural markets and led to rising prices for consumers and prompting oversupply, this problem has not yet been eliminated. Furthermore, countries that are part of the Schengen Agreement, which have free movement and have eliminated border controls, now expose themselves to greater risk, especially with today's onslaught by radical religious and political groups. Removing things like border controls means eliminating thousands of jobs within the EU. Furthermore, within the EU, trade and labor markets are severely constrained by numerous bureaucratic rules and some countries would benefit more from leaving or not.
