Genes work together to form a code and create a person; physically, mentally and personality-wise. There may be factors that contribute to the end result, such as the environment to reach full potential, but all of the initial groundwork is laid completely by heredity. Not all traits can be expressed in every environment. For example, a person prone to diabetes and at increased risk, but who never hesitates to follow a healthy diet and lifestyle, may never develop the disease.
