The intervention refers to the treatment provided to the study population (Riva et all 2012). In this case, the intervention is to suggest compliance with the entire WHO Surgical Safety Checklist versus non-compliance or failure to complete the entire checklist. Complete checklist compliance by the surgical team ensures the safety of patients undergoing surgical procedures, adequate team communication, and beneficial outcomes for patients and staff. It would be beneficial, especially in emergency situations, to implement an assigned RN as the checklist manager to minimize the risk of any errors made by operational staff. Regardless of the severity of the emergency situation, the checklist should be evaluated in order to prevent further complications or errors and to provide accurate information to the team
