Have you ever met a friend who grew up in a family with only one mother or father? well, I did. in a 2012 study conducted by the US Census Bureau, the number of single-parent families is increasing (Family, Family and Divorce). To be more specific, children living in single-parent homes have nearly doubled since 1960 (LifeSiteNews). Mother families consisting of only mother or father do their best to support their children, there are some negative effects of not having a well-rounded family life. One thing that could be negatively affected would be the child's behavior. Living in poverty is stressful and can have many emotional effects on children, including low self-esteem, increased anger and frustration, and an increased risk of violent behavior (LIVESTRONG). Because this child does not have the attention span of a child with two parents, this child may have to grow up faster than others.
