Green roof can protect the roof membrane from ultraviolet (UV) radiation and prevent physical damage due to the degeneration of insulation and roof materials. It can block solar radiation and decrease daily temperature fluctuations during summer and winter. All these advantages extend the life of the roof [19]. Heat gain and loss through the green roof are primarily defined by solar radiation from the sun. Green roof useful for reflecting solar radiation and reducing heat absorption through evapotranspiration. Furthermore, thanks to the additional insulation, it is possible to minimize the amount of heat transmitted through the roof membrane.
