In a field like environmental leadership, you cannot use traditional education when working to change tradition itself. Learning to build human-nature relationships, as well as environmental justice and conflict resolution involves being more aware of yourself and the world around you. Personally, I feel the need to train myself to connect with nature on a deeper level because to fully listen to it, I feel like I would need to build a connection first. Using an experiential academic context is helpful because it shows you how you would apply everything you learned in a real-world context. I feel that this method gives me the ability to solve problems using creativity and new perspectives on what I have learned. I am passionate about playing an integral role in raising awareness of environmental destruction and helping shift the paradigm. The criteria and foundations on which the Masters of Environmental Leaders is based are the ideal program that would lead me to the right
