Topic > The different types of diabetes - 872

Diabetes is a metabolic disease also known as diabetes mellitus. Diabetes is when a person has to have a high blood glucose level or also known as sugar, diabetes affects 7% of the population. Diabetes occurs when the body is unable to control blood sugar levels or keep them at a homeostasis level. There are two types of diabetes and one that occurs when a woman is pregnant, there is type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes. There are different treatments and ways to live with diabetes. The normal blood sugar level is between 80 and 120 mg/dL. If the blood sugar level falls below 80 mg/dl it is called hypoglycemia, while if it falls below 40 mg/dl it is called a hypoglycemic crisis. If the blood sugar level exceeds 120 mg/dl it is called hyperglycemia. When the blood sugar level exceeds 400 mg/dl it is called diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) or hyperglycemic hyperosmolar non-ketotic coma (HHNC). If the blood sugar level exceeds 800 mg/dl it is called a hyperglycemic crisis. Hypoglycemia occurs when the blood sugar level drops below 80 mg/dl. This can happen when a patient doesn't eat a meal and their sugar drops or when a patient takes their insulin and doesn't eat a meal afterward. When a patient is hypoglycemic, some of the signs he or she may exhibit could be hunger, pale, sweaty or clammy skin, sweating or sweating, anxious or combative, weakness on one side of the body and simulating a stroke, seizures, fainting and their mental state can change. When a patient is hypoglycemic he needs to eat a good meal or drink juice to raise his blood sugar level. If the patient has an altered mental state he should not eat or drink anything because he cannot control his airway, in these cases it is necessary to call the emergency services. When a paramedic arrives, they manage to... half of paper... and lead to fewer complications. A patient with type 2 diabetes also needs to eat healthy and exercise, but for him it is more fundamental because if he doesn't do it, type 2 diabetes could become type 1 diabetes. But if a patient with type 2 diabetes 2 eat healthily and exercise, you may be able to recover from type 2 diabetes and never have it again as long as you eat right, exercise and maintain a good, healthy weight. The body uses glucose for its main source of energy and all cells in the body use glucose to function properly. Some cells cannot function without glucose, brain cells can suffer permanent damage when glucose levels in the body are very low. Insulin is needed in the body to allow glucose to enter cells. If the body does not have enough insulin, the patient will have high blood sugar but it will not be able to enter the cells to be used.
