Additionally, he and his son spent some nights in a bathroom in the subway station since Chris couldn't pay the rent. Chris struggles throughout the film as he tries to manage his office job and the long lines outside the church where homeless people might spend the night. Despite all the difficulties he goes through, he never shows any sign of weakness. His motivation and consistency are inspiring and uplifting to the viewer. The work ethic reminds viewers of the tough blue-collar class, because Chris is willing to work and sacrifice to overcome any difficulty and preserve in order to provide the best for his son. As he finishes his internship, he is once again called to the boss's office where he is offered a permanent job at the company. This moment of realization causes a wave of overwhelming emotions for Chris and the viewer as the final on-screen captions describe how he will later become a successful multimillionaire and proceed to open his own brokerage firm.
