Hotel Rwanda The film begins with a radio announcer saying that the Tutsis have taken the land of the Hutus, and they are cockroaches and murderers. He claims that the Hutus are the majority and that the infestation of Tutsi traitors and invaders will be crushed. Nest, Paul Rusesabagina and an employee of the Mille Collines Hotel, Kigali? of which Paul is the manager, will go to get supplies for the hotel from George Rutagando. George is the leader of the Interahamwe, a Hutu military group. When Paul comes home from work, Tatiana's brother and his family are visiting. Paul, his wife Tatiana and their three children have dinner with Tatiana's brother's family. Later that night, the Rusesabaginas' only son, Roger, tells them that there are soldiers outside. Paul, Tatiana, Tatiana's brother and his wife come out to see for themselves. They witness their neighbor being beaten by Hutu soldiers. Tatiana begs Paul to do something, but he says there's nothing he can do. The next day, Paul sees Tutsi homes being burned and people killed along the side of the road and in their yards. When he enters the house, he does not find his family. He searches for Tatiana and her children throughout the house and finds them hiding along with their Tutsi neighbors. The next morning, Hutu soldiers come to their house and take with them everyone who was staying in Rusesabaginas. The soldiers take them to the Diplomat Hotel Diplomat or Mille Collines?, where Paul worked, and Paul breaks into the safe to take their money and alcohol. He secretly takes more money from the hotel safe and gives it to the soldiers after they threaten to kill Paul's family and his neighbors. The Rusebagina must be... in the center of the card... his army then leaves without harming anyone. Refugees are told to call their influential friends and some families, including the Rusesabaginas, are allowed to leave. The Red Cross woman returns to the hotel and Paul tells her to go look for his nieces. He says they're probably dead but finally agrees to do it. Paul tells Tatiana that if she can't go back in time, their family will have to leave without their granddaughters. The woman doesn't show up at the scheduled departure time, so Paul sends his family in a UN truck without him. They shout for him, but it is too late for him to come back up. Meanwhile, Gregoire tells the Hutu soldiers that the UN trucks are carrying Tutsi, not supplies. The soldiers surround the trucks and begin attacking the passengers. Shortly afterwards the troops arrive from Rwanda and the trucks return to the hotel.
