What attracted me to the nursing profession was the desire to be a caregiver. Being a nurse for 7 years has been rewarding and, at times, very challenging. I didn't know how to be a nurse until I became the patient. During my time in the hospital, my personal experience as a patient taught me how important it was to continue my nursing education. It is important to me to be a supportive, competent and reliable person for patients and families. Working in different areas of healthcare helped me build a foundation and transition into the nursing field.
