The Magnet Hospital Model is an international project aimed at providing an optimal framework for nursing care and future research. The model is composed of transformational leadership, empirical findings, exemplary professional practice, structural empowerment and new knowledge combined with innovations and improvements. Hospitals that participate in the model and have obtained the title constantly seek to improve and expand. They strive to provide specialized care globally. Scheduling and staffing are organized to prevent nurses from becoming burned out. The lower the burnout rate, the higher the satisfaction rate and overall health of patients. When nurses are not exhausted, they perform optimally and want to work with their patients and this creates better outcomes for their patients. The steps of the nursing process relate in many ways to evidence-based practice. During the diagnostic and evaluative phases of the nursing process, important clinical questions are considered and critical review of existing knowledge is completed. Evidence-based practice also begins with problem identification and learning about the clinical problem by asking questions, in relation to the nursing process. These clinical questions are asked in a concise, accurate, and organized manner that allows for clear answers. Once you have identified all the specific questions, the second step is to look for evidence through a thorough search for the best information to answer the question. The third step in the nursing process is developing a plan of care. In evidence-based nursing practice, the plan of care is established following a critical investigation of what is known and not known about the specific problem. Next, in the traditional nursing process, the nurse implements… the center of the paper… it was so important to learn. Without a care plan we would not have a structure to work with. I also think that healthcare would be nowhere right now without evidence-based nursing. How could we diagnose and treat people if we had no supporting evidence? We would not know which symptoms belonged to which disease and which medicine would cure it. We probably wouldn't have as many antibiotics as we do now. Communication is also very important. Without it nursing would likely become extinct. There will always be someone who knows a little more than me. And without communicating I won't learn everything I can. I need more experienced nurses to succeed and learn, but I won't learn if I don't use my resources. I learned a lot in this course by reading the book and asking other students why coming to study sessions wasn't an option with work.
