DJ and Engles. CR (2010). The purpose of this research was to see whether thin dolls have an effect, if any, on girls' views of their body image. He also focused on the effects of food intake, after exposure to the thinner doll. The number and type of participants used in this study were 117 girls, from seven different schools in the south-east of the Netherlands, Anschutz. DJ and English. CR (2010). Their ages ranged from 6 to 10 years. The measurement was carried out on a slimmer type of doll (Barbie), on a medium-sized doll (Emme) and on Legos under controlled conditions. This test also required the girls to take a taste test and questionnaires, Anschutz. DJ and English. CR (2010). The independent variable for this test was the pictures of the dolls. The dependent variables for this study consist of body estimate, actual ideal body size discrepancy, and food intake. The format for the test consisted of facial images of emoticons, which served for responses to the statements. To measure the discrepancy between actual and ideal body dimensions, drawings of nine different figures of girls were made. They ranged from very thin to very fat. The third part of the test consisted of measuring food intake, which required the girls to freely taste three different bowls of chocolate-covered peanuts. The total amount of food to be tested
