In America, there have always been many controversies regarding healthcare in our country. Since the beginning of the 20th century, America and some of its people have been ripe for change. In the movie “Sicko,” Michael Moore asked his fans and followers to send him their healthcare horror stories. She's not even the half of it, many other people Moore had visited in his film had talked about how their loved ones had died because they were denied surgery. A mother lost her daughter because the hospital she was taken to didn't even look at her because of the health insurance she had and another woman lost her husband because he needed a bone transplant which their insurance healthcare provider had denied. If America had universal healthcare, no one would ever have to be turned away or turned away for surgery or pre-existing conditions. Second, I believe another big reason why America should move to universal healthcare is because of the cost differences. In the film, Moore visits France, a country that supposedly has one of the best healthcare systems on the planet. Moore finds a family in France who says they have absolutely no debt to their health insurance or their healthcare, while in America people are practically drowning in debt to their healthcare provider. Moore had taken a group of people he found they could not receive health care and a group of 9/11 volunteers to Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, seeking free health care on American soil.
