Topic > Yoga and my challenges in artistic life

Yoga worked for me because I was open-minded at the time. I literally emptied my plate and was ready for a new portion. I was willing to try a new approach to life and harness my true power, as I later realized. I also understand that it may not work for everyone and that's okay. We are all different and I respect the differences and uniqueness that we all represent. Yoga offers far beyond the physical and spiritual which sometimes tend to confuse many people. This is why I choose to stay out of any spiritual discussions in this book. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? I want to take you back to how yoga has affected my life. As an artist, my main goal was to stay fit and ready with my product, which is our performances. We did this without any problems, even when on some days we had to work on an empty stomach. Our focus and focus kept us going. Our goal, which remains the goal for many artists, is to get signed outside of the country. Outside jobs paid more than local gigs for acrobats and dancers, especially during that time. Art in Kenya was seen as a menial way to make money or make a living. Most people, mostly stereotypes, still believe that it works for the poor. Slum dwellers who have nothing else to do, which was true to some extent and especially when you consider the resources and options available to people who have not gone beyond a certain level of education. Talent, with the exception of sports, was looked down upon for some reason. Back to my point; when we trained hard, our focus was maximum and within a few years of turmoil, we made it. We showed our shows everywhere to anyone who was interested in seeing us, including people on the street. This earned us our first real concert outside the country as a group and we were very happy. When I look back I see that we succeeded in this aspect because we put in all the effort needed and it paid off. Now we have moved on to the next phase; coming from a scarcity environment and now suddenly in a cash flow. It threw us off for a while. Our expenses were all over the place. We bought a lot of non-essentials. This dug deep into our pockets and left us high and dry, waiting for the next contract to come along. We were clearly not equipped to handle this new space. It might be hard to imagine, but it took me almost 10 years in the industry to realize the cyclical movement and start looking for a way out. Some life lessons come to us in different ways, sometimes early and sometimes late. Sometimes after hitting rock bottom and/or having a near-death experience with a loved one or with ourselves. Mine happened when our second baby was born. That's when I realized how useless I was as a father and husband. Slowly, like a wounded animal I started looking for ways to earn money at home and not rely on contracts that had now decided to stay away from me for some reason, perhaps after noticing that I wasn't learning. God, the powers that be decided it was time and so took away all our jobs so I could learn. However, when my daughter was 2 years old, we had our second child. This is the time when I was just learning yoga. I spend a lot of time thinking about trying to see how and where I have 2012.
